are a group of friends and family that are Dedicated, Responsible
Miniature
Dachshund Breeders
in Kentucky. We are very
proud of our Mini Dachshunds and their Puppies! We love the Dachshunds that we own,
their beautiful puppies, the friends we have met along the way, and the
amazing customers that take our little puppies into their homes and
hearts. Yes, becoming Dachshund Breeders was the best thing we ever did
with our lives. We live very near Somerset, KY but are within
driving distance of Lexington, Louisville, Bowling Green, etc. We have
been breeding Miniature Dachshunds for almost 10 years, but had earlier
experience breeding Rottweiler's and Shih Tzu's. (We had
Rotties
growing up and dabbled in the Shih Tzu's for a few years later in
life). Well, we love to tell this story! We were actually visiting a breeder in London, Ky., to look at a new Shih Tzu stud, and she had a beautiful pair of Long haired Dachshunds in her home. I have to admit that we had never even seen a longhair Dachshund before! We were IN LOVE on the spot! They were absolutely the prettiest little dogs we had ever seen! We must have spent an hour in her home playing with those sweet little Doxies! Then, we went home in a chatter and spent the next few months doing research on the Dachshund Breed and the Dachshund History and Origin.. We were completely blown away by all of the amazing varieties of the Dachshund. I mean, we had thought they only came in Red and Black and Tan. Who knew? In the meantime, we managed to talk that nice lady out of her pair of Mini Longhaired Dachshunds! Their names are Zoe and Dash and they were the new loves of our lives! You really cannot imagine how amazing Dachshunds are until you own one. There are no words, no websites, no poems.. nothing that can prepare you for the joy of spending time with a Dachshund. They are gentle, adoring, sweet little dogs with great big personalities! They can melt your heart one minute..and break you up laughing the next. They're intelligent and stubborn..and we have never loved anything as much as them. I mean, we always enjoyed our hobby of breeding dogs, but we were changed by this. We became truly addicted to Miniature Dachshunds. I'm not sure that anyone sets out with the intention of becoming a Dog Breeder. It's something that happens a little at a time.. slowly creeping up on you. At first, you just have a cute little pair and want to have a litter of puppies. Then the next thing you know, you want to be able to produce a certain color..then maybe you'll try smooth coat or wirehair.. then.. BAM.. Congratulations, you're a Dachshund Breeder..LOL But even then, only people that really LOVE it will stick with and do it right. Just in the short amount of time we have been breeding Dachshunds, there have been many breeders come and go into our lives. You can bet on one thing.. we aren't going anywhere. We will be here to sell you your next Dachshund Puppy, and your childrens' first Dachshund Puppy.. and maybe their kids, too. It was never enough for us to just be breeders, we wanted to become GREAT Breeders. It is absolutely the hardest work we have ever done. But, the rewards are heartfelt. We are in a constant struggle to make that next litter even better than the last. We have driven hours and spent days too many to count in the search of that next great dog. Something to improve our bloodlines. Make our puppies even better! I don't think we will ever stop striving to make it better. There really is no such thing as the perfect dog.. or the perfect dog breeder. But, we try! We have spent years studying and researching everything we could find about Dachshunds. We are on a constant journey to share that knowledge with anyone that will listen. Our website is very educational and we pride ourselves on being friendly breeders. In our struggle to become Dachshund Breeders we have had many experiences with other Dachshund breeders. Most of them are amazing people that we will be friends with forever, but I have to admit that we learned some hard lessons from a few of them, too. Things we will never forget and never allow to happen here. There are obviously some bad breeders out there and it's hard to know who to choose. If we don't have something that you are looking for, please let us know. We would be more than happy to send you to one of our Respectable Dachshund Breeder friends. Each and every single one of our Dachshunds are loved and adored just like the first ones! They each have their own personalities and there is nothing we would rather do than spend time with them! We have a silly saying around here.. "we don't play golf" In all honesty, we don't play golf, or go fishing, or knit.. we rarely have time to read a good book and I can't remember the last vacation we took. We rarely make it home for birthday parties, and have been late more times than I can remember because we had to do something for the dogs first. You see, there is nothing but the good Lord that comes before the dogs and puppies in our minds. We really get up every single morning, excited to tend to them. We LOVE what we do and enjoy every minute spent with them. All of our Adult Dachshunds live in a temperature controlled indoor/outdoor building when they are not in the house with us. We really do bring our little pregnant ( I know most breeders call them Bitches..but, we call them "The MOMMIES") into our living room when they are about three weeks away from giving birth. We spoil them, and make sure they are comfortable. When it's time to have babies..we are right there for every moment of it! I can't tell you how many nights we have stayed up tending to a new mom or a new litter of puppies. There is nothing more exciting. Just waiting for each little baby to come into the world, and knowing that ours are the first hands they will feel. The first people they will see when they finally open their eyes. The first voices their little ears will hear. Each and every single puppy born here is loved and handled from day one. It goes without saying, but our puppies are very social! We start playing with them as soon as we can, too. My Gosh.. I can't tell you how fast the time flies! It just seems like five minutes..and they are already ready for their new homes. It's always hard to let them go, but the amazing people that come to us for their puppies makes it all worth it. There is a very strong bond between us. Something that connects us much better than Facebook! lol We really love these people and appreciate them more than you could imagine. That they trusted us enough to buy our Dachshund puppies! The emotional commitment that comes with that is awe inspiring. We take this responsibility very seriously. We're proud to say that most of our puppies are sold to repeat customers or their friends, family or co-workers. If you would like to visit their pages, please click here.
