While somewhat controversial, it
is possible to have Dachshund
puppies
with more than one pattern. Such as a Piebald
Brindle
Dachshund, A Sable Piebald Dachshund, or a Dapple Piebald Dachshund.
They are very pretty and give the owner a Dachshund
with a unique appearance. Personally, I believe that a Dapple
Piebald is an excellent and very safe alternative to the double dapple
dachshund. Easily accomplished by breeding a Dapple Dachshund
that carries piebald to a solid colored piebald dachshund.
However, while the AKC does have a listing category for
Double Dapple it does not currently have a listing for dapple piebald
dachshunds. So, if you do have one of these puppies, you'll
need to make the pattern part of his name or use abbreviations at the
end of the name to make others aware of what kind of dog you have.
Common abbreviations
in Dachshunds are MLP (Miniature
Longhaired Piebald) MSD (Miniature Smooth Dapple.
(MSDD) Miniature Smooth Double Dapple. MLBP (this
would be a Miniature Longhaired Brindle Piebald) If you have any

Pups. Just beware that breeding a dapple dachshund
to
dapple dachshund can and more than likely will, produce double dapple
dachshund puppies. This is a lethal gene and can produce
blind and deaf puppies. Ponderosa Pups does not breed for double dapple
