Okay..Now you have
picked out your new Doxie puppy! What are you going to name
it?
Believe
it or not, this can be one of the biggest decisions you've made since
you decided to buy a Dachshund Puppy. I can't tell you the
hours and
hours of thought and research that we have put into Dachshund Dog
Names! Some articles say that your dog's name is an extension
of
yourself and a reflection of your personality. Are you fun
and
whimsical or serious and mellow? Are you a movie
buff? A Food lover?
Addicted to books or history?
In the past "cute" puppy names
were the most common for females..fluffy, muffin, baby, etc.
Tough
Male puppy names were the most common..Duke, Butch, Max, Rover,
etc.
But in recent years we have seen a rise of more common "people" names
attached to our pets.. Jake, Mike, Chloe, Lilly, Phoebe, etc.
I have
to admit two of those names are my house pets..lol Still,
there will
always be a majority of Dachshund Dog lovers that stick with those
classic
weiner dog names..
Oscar, Weiner, Bratwurst, Long Doggy,
Frank, etc.!

that I just received from Joni says " I have a new English Cream puppy,
I named him Nigel at first since he was English. Then one day I said
"come on buddy" and it just fit him perfectly. So Now he's known as
Buddyboo". You might find out that your dachshund names himself, too!
