Okay..Now you have picked out your new Doxie puppy!  What are you going to name it?

Believe it or not, this can be one of the biggest decisions you've made since you decided to buy a Dachshund Puppy.  I can't tell you the hours and hours of thought and research that we have put into naming our Dachshund Puppies!  Some articles say that what you name your dog is an extension of yourself and a reflection of your personality.  Are you fun and whimsical or serious and mellow?  Are you a movie buff?  A Food lover?  Addicted to books or history?  
In the past "cute" names were the most common for females..fluffy, muffin, baby, etc.  Tough Male names where the most common..Duke, Butch, Max, Rover, etc.  But in recent years we have seen a rise of more common "people" names attached to our pets.. Jake, Mike, Chloe, Lilly, Pheobe, etc.  I have to admit two of those names are my house pets..lol  Still, there will always be a majority of Dachshund lovers that stick with those classic weiner dog names.. Oscar, Weiner, Bratwurst, Long Doggy, Frank, etc.!
We have compiled this list to help out in your search for Dachshund Puppy NAMES, but don't be in too big of a hurry.  Spend some time with your new Doxie puppy and get to know him.  You might find out that he names himself! (Busy, Spunky, Lazy, Nosy, Snuggles, Digger..lol)
